"I was inspired by Chance The Rapper to ‘think bigger’ when he pledged one million dollars to Chicago kids and their school system. So, I’ll be joining him by investing in the future of our youth. The system is failing our kids, and it will be up to the community and our leaders to help keep the hope alive by focusing on improving our education system and the future of our kids. Any company that decides to invest in me, just know that you’ll be investing in opportunities and providing inspiration for these families- many who feel unnoticed or go unmentioned. I have decided to donate all of my endorsement money in 2017 to help rebuild minority communities through s.t.e.a.m programs, as well as initiatives that directly affect women of color in hopes that we can create more opportunities for our youth and build a brighter future. In addition, 50% of the proceeds from my jersey sales this year will go to programs and initiatives to support inner-city garden projects, as it’s not only about providing opportunities in education and arts, but to help provide the right nutrition and access to healthy living to all. I’m asking all professional athletes to join me by donating a portion of your endorsements this year to a cause of your choice. We can make a difference. It’s up to us to help plant seeds of hope and help fuel the future. Power to the People, Michael Bennett”

As a black man in America sometime I get overwhelmed and discouraged by what I see from police killing of unarmed black man to the unequal educational system for people of color and mass incarceration of my fellow brothers for profit .But when I look in my daughters In their eyes I see the courage of Harriet Tubman ,The patience of rosa park ,the soul of ida b wells , the passion of Fannie Lou Hamer n the Heart of Angela Davis. I see the future I see hope I m inspired because it will be women who lead the future.so I am writing this to express my unconditional solidarity for the women's strike on International Women's Day March 8. It would be easy for me to say that I am supporting this day of resistance because I have three daughters and I want nothing to stand in their way as they attempt to reach their potential and achieve their goals. But this issue is a lot bigger than my dreams for my own family. It's about the women across the earth who are suffering: women not so worried about the glass ceiling because they're trying to survive a collapsing floor. It's about women of color across the earth who live on less than one dollar a day. It's about all women who are subject to sexual assault and violence. I stand with the women's strike because I agree with their unity statement that reads that this day is "organized by and for women who have been marginalized and silenced by decades of neoliberalism directed towards working women, women of color, Native women, disabled women, immigrant women, Muslim women and lesbian women ,queer and trans women I encourage my fellow football players to take off our helmets, and stand with these brave women across. As Angela Davis once said, "To understand how any society functions you must understand the relationship between the men and the women." By that metric, our society is failing. We need change and to quote Frederick Douglass, "without struggle there is no progress." Power to the people Michael bennett

Nothing really matters if—how many touchdowns I score, if another black kid is shot and killed. Doesn’t matter how many sacks I get, if the education system is unfair for black youth or people of color youth. Doesn’t matter how many times I hit Tom Brady or any other quarterback, if there’s a wall being built. You know what I mean?

“Sometimes in life when you’re going places, some people take a car, some people walk and some take an airplane,” Bennett said. “But you eventually get to your destination. And that’s how I feel about this situation for me. “As long as you don’t give up, I believe you can do things. There are a lot of the best players in the NFL who are free agents. It’s not always the first-round picks who make it all the way to the end.” 2008 quote

William Edward Burghardt "W. E. B." Du Bois ; February 23, 1868 – August 27, 1963) was an American sociologist, historian, civil rights activist, Pan-Africanist, author, and editor. Born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, Du Bois grew up in a relatively tolerant and integrated community. After completing graduate work at the University of Berlin and Harvard, where he was the first African American to earn a doctorate, he became a professor of history, sociology and economics at Atlanta University. Du Bois was one of the co-founders of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in 1909. was the main target of Du Bois's polemics, and he strongly protested against lynching, Jim Crow laws, and discrimination in education and employment. His cause included people of color everywhere, particularly Africans and Asians in colonies. He was a proponent of Pan-Africanism and helped organize several Pan-African Congresses to fight for independence of African colonies from European powers. Du Bois made several trips to Europe, Africa and Asia. After World War I, he surveyed the experiences of American black soldiers in France and documented widespread bigotry in the United States military. Du Bois was a prolific author. His collection of essays, The Souls of Black Folk, was a seminal work in African-American literature; and his 1935 magnum opus Black Reconstruction in America challenged the prevailing orthodoxy that blacks were responsible for the failures of the Reconstruction Era. He wrote one of the first scientific treatises in the field of American sociology, and he published three autobiographies, each of which contains insightful essays on sociology, politics and history. In his role as editor of the NAACP's journal The Crisis, he published many influential pieces. Du Bois believed that capitalism was a primary cause of racism, and he was generally sympathetic to socialist causes throughout his life. He was an ardent peace activist and advocated nuclear disarmament. The United States' Civil Rights Act, embodying many of the reforms for which Du Bois had campaigned his entire life, was enacted a year after

Thurgood Marshall A child born to a Black mother in a state like Mississippi... has exactly the same rights as a white baby born to the wealthiest person in the United States. It's not true, but I challenge anyone to say it is not a goal worth working for
